Looking for that romantic setting for your next weekend getaway? Longing to relax and soak in a clawfoot bath following your daylong exertions? Then look no further than Amore! Nestled on Cliff Drive is your sandstone retreat - your home away from home. Styled on a European chalet, with exposed beams, terracotta tiles, timber and copper, Amore accommodates 1-2 couples with charm and modern comfort. Fully self-contained with linen and towels supplied, plus some special treats.
Built from Western Australian Sandstone - sawn on site, as was the limestone for all retaining walls - the builder was lavish in his use of timber, handmade terracotta tiles and copper in his interpretation of a European chalet blending into the mist and snow of the mountains.
French doors compliment exposed sandstone walls, timber-lined cathedral ceiling and window in this cosy area. The gas log fire and comfortable lounge invite you to settle down and enjoy the entertainment available - TV, VCR and CD player plus Pianola and games for those times when you don't wish to venture outdoors.
Formal or informal - the choice is yours. Alabaster wall sconces create your desired atmosphere, while the French doors give access to the front courtyard and sandstone setting for alfresco dining.
Timber beams and sandstone bench-tops frame the fuel/electric stove. Fridge, microwave and brass sinks will make you feel at home as will the fully equipped cupboards - right down to recipe books. For informal cooking there is a 5-burner gas BBQ in the rear courtyard.
Upstairs through the mezzanine area, featuring a library, is a double bedroom with ensuite and French doors to a balcony overlooking the garden - ideal for that morning cuppa while watching the bird life.
Downstairs' double bedroom has French door access to the garden and use of the 'English bathroom' with hand-painted 'washdown closet' plus clawfoot bath for those long, luxurious soaks.
Both bedrooms feature soft furnishings of velvet and lace, with doonas, electric blankets and electric heaters. All linen, pillows and towels are supplied.
Amoré is situated only 400 metres from Katoomba Golf Course and Cahill's Lookout and a short drive to Echo Point, home of the famous Three Sisters. There is also a directory outlining many activities.
